Cantilever gates
By far our most popular choice. One of the biggest and most sought-after benefits of a cantilever gate system over standard sliding mechanisms is its versatility. As it is suspended above the ground, the cantilever gate can be used across a range of surfaces on which both sliding and swing gates may struggle. A Cantilever Gates bearings provide a reliable, smooth, and silent operation. Even more, you don’t have to ensure the ground is level. They work on steep inclines. No wheels on the ground are needed. Therefore, any debris on the driveway won’t affect the movement operations of the gate. Since a properly designed, fabricated, and installed cantilever gate will reduce friction when being used, it will also prolong the life of the gate operations. Cantilever gates require no ground track installation. This makes them easier and faster to install. The many benefits of cantilever gates make them suited for high traffic industrial and commercial properties or any location where a ground track is not an option.
Sliding gates
Sliding Gates are able to slide along a fence line and therefore take up no room on the driveway itself as do swing gates. Once the Sliding Gates are closed and locked onto a fixed post, they are very secure and cannot be forced open, as swing gates can be. Sliding Gates are not anywhere near affected by wind loading on the gate, as compared to swing gates.
Swing gates
Swinging Gates are often a good option as they do not need any side room to slide back as do sliding gates. You do not have to go to the expense of digging up the driveway to lay a concrete footing or put in a large foundation. A reasonable pair of hinges is all that is required to enable the gates to be opened and closed. Gate operators can be conveniently fitted to existing Swinging Gates in most cases.

So which one should you choose?
We’d always recommend the cantilever gates over the sliding gates if they’re a viable option for you and indeed, they are often the favoured choice amongst our customers. Sometimes a swing gate is the only option. However, the option that’s best for you will often come down to your personal requirements and the demands of your environment. For example, while cantilever gates are fantastic for newly built premises, sometimes it is not feasible to install the concrete pad that cantilever gates require. Whatever the case, we are always happy to advise the best possible solution to meet your requirements
