These are the terms on which 24/7 Security Limited supplies and installs CCTV, alarm and gate automation systems, and provides maintenance and support, in Whakatane and the Eastern Bay of Plenty. They apply alongside your quote. Where your quote says something different, the quote takes precedence.

Quotes
Quotes are based on the site as we find it and on the scope discussed with you. They are valid for the period stated on the quote. Accepting a quote, in writing or by asking us to proceed, forms a contract on these terms.
Scope and variations
We will carry out the work described in your quote. If the site turns out to be materially different from what was assumed, or you ask for additional work, we will discuss it with you and agree the change before proceeding wherever practical. Additional work is charged at our current rates.
Site access and preparation
You agree to give us safe and reasonable access to the site at the agreed times, and to tell us about anything that affects safety or the work, such as asbestos, buried services, hidden wiring, livestock or dogs. Where access is not available at an agreed time and we have not been told in advance, we may charge for the wasted visit.
Pricing and payment
Prices are in New Zealand dollars. Unless your quote says otherwise, prices include GST. Payment terms are as stated on your invoice. We may charge interest and reasonable recovery costs on overdue accounts. Where equipment is supplied, ownership passes to you once the invoice is paid in full, although risk passes on delivery or installation.
Warranty
Equipment carries the manufacturer’s warranty for the period stated in your quote or on the product. We warrant our workmanship for the period stated in your quote. Warranty does not cover damage from misuse, accident, power surges, lightning, storm, vermin, alteration by others, or normal wear. Where a warranty claim requires us to attend site, travel may be chargeable outside our normal service area.
Consumer Guarantees Act
If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or the Fair Trading Act 1986. Where you acquire goods or services from us for the purposes of a business, you agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act does not apply, as permitted by section 43 of that Act.
What a security system can and cannot do
This matters, so we would rather say it plainly. A security system reduces risk and provides evidence. It does not prevent crime, guarantee that an intruder will be detected or deterred, or guarantee that footage will be usable in every circumstance. Cameras, alarms, recorders, networks and power supplies can all fail or be interfered with, and internet and mobile connections are outside our control.
We are not an insurer. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss, theft, damage or injury that a system did not prevent or record, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the work the claim relates to. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss such as lost income or lost profit. You should maintain appropriate insurance.
Your system, your responsibilities
Once a system is handed over you are responsible for how it is used, including who has access to it, keeping passwords and alarm codes secure, and meeting your own obligations under the Privacy Act 2020 if you operate cameras. We can advise on good practice, but we do not operate your system for you unless we have separately agreed to.
Maintenance and support
Where you have a maintenance agreement, the work covered, the frequency and the response times are as set out in that agreement. Remote support is provided where the system and its internet connection allow it. Where a fault turns out not to be with equipment we supplied, or is caused by something outside the warranty, the visit may be chargeable.
Cancellation
If you cancel after accepting a quote, we may charge for work already carried out, for equipment already ordered or supplied specifically for your job, and for any restocking or cancellation cost we incur.
Privacy
We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
General
These terms are governed by New Zealand law and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest continues to apply. We may update these terms, and the version on this page at the time you accept a quote is the version that applies.
